AidongYang Dr Aidong Yang (Principal Investigator) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Science of the University of Oxford. He has extensive research experience in Process Systems Engineering, particularly modelling and optimisation for the design of sustainable production and energy systems. He lead on the system integration feasibility project.

 

 

JohnIngram  Dr John Ingram (Co-investigator) is the Food Programme Leader at Environmental Change Institute (ECI) in the University of Oxford. He has over 15 years experience in promoting food systems thinking and research across the world. He lead on the food feasibility project.

 

 

 

KouroshBehzadian Dr Kourosh Behzadian was an Associate Research Fellow in the Centre for Water Systems at Exeter. His research interests include a variety of activities in modelling, planning and management of urban water systems and hydro-systems. His recent work has focused on sustainability type assessment of metabolism-based performance in urban water systems. He worked on the water feasibility project.

 

 

David BradleyDavid Bradley is a Principal Research Associate, Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS), School of Geography, Politics and Sociology, Newcastle University. David has directed numerous feasibility studies and policy studies. He worked on the policy and society feasibility project.

 

 

DavidButler Professor David Butler is Professor of Water Engineering at the University of Exeter and is Co-director of the Centre for Water Systems. He specialises in urban water management and was the water feasibility project lead.

 

 

 

juliancotteeJulian Cottee has a background as a social entrepreneur working to improve food systems at a city region level in Oxfordshire, his home. He has also worked as a food systems consultant for organisations including WWF, the National Trust and the Prince of Wales’ International Sustainability Unit. He contributed to the Food Feasibility Project for the Local Nexus Network.

 

 

 

 

Clare crop squareClare Downing is an adaptation science specialist in UKCIP at the Environmental Change Institute (ECI) in the University of Oxford. She was the Network Coordinator for the Local Nexus Network.

 

 

 

 

Dr Raziyeh Farmani is a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Water Systems at Exeter. Her research interests span urban water systems, water resources management and asset management. She co-lead the water feasibility project.

 

Jane GloverDr Jane Glover is a research fellow at the University of Birmingham and specialises in small family firms and entrepreneurship research.  She has worked on various projects in the agricultural industry for over ten years ranging from survival strategies, gender issues and emotional well-being.  She worked on the business models and practices feasibility project.

 

 

 

MattLeach Professor Matthew Leach is Professor of Energy and Environmental Systems in the multidisciplinary Centre for Environmental Strategy at the University of Surrey. His research relates to decentralised energy supply systems and demand-side management, looking at the environmental and economic performance of emerging technologies, and at policy aspects. He was the energy feasibility project investigator.

 

 

Alma López-Avilés  Dr Alma López-Avilés is a Research Fellow in the multidisciplinary Centre for Environmental Strategy at the University of Surrey. Alma has experience in the public and private sectors and is a chartered member of the Institution of Water and Environmental Management and a Chartered Scientist. She worked on the energy feasibility project.

 

 

 

AndyPike  Professor Andy Pike is Professor of Local and Regional Development and Director, Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS), School of Geography, Politics and Sociology, Newcastle University. He worked on the policy and society feasibility project.

 

 

 

LisaDePropris  Professor Lisa De Propris  is a Professor of Regional Economic Development, and the Director of the GVC Research Cluster in University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on theorising and analysing firms’ external connections, linkages and relationships, which includes particularly small firms in clusters, the competitiveness of clusters and places, regional development; and innovation and knowledge creation in clusters. She worked on the business models and practice feasibility project.

 

 

LauraPurvis  Dr Laura Purvis is a Lecturer in Logistics and Operations Management at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University. She specialises in supply chain management strategies, with a particular focus on flexible production and supply systems. She worked on the business models and practice feasibility project.
